2024 | Justworks Employee Resource Group logos
Our small team of two was tasked with creating logos for all eight of Justworks’ employee resource groups at the time: 60 Percent, Blackworks, Chai, Cultura, Family Matters, Justability, Square1, and OUTworks.Each group had two leads, and we collaborated closely with them to ensure the logos reflected both the mission of the group and the lived experiences of its members. The goal was to develop a unified design system with distinct logos that resonated deeply with each community.
This project had it’s challenges. We were to create one design style and system, design seven logos (that’s a lot!!), and make sure that each logo authentically represents the group. In the midst of cultural and political hardships within our country, the last challenge was most important to us. So, we held a collaborative brainstorm session with each group, inviting the leads and three active members from their groups to generate key words and visual ideas. Though leadership has rotated over time, the logos continue to serve as lasting visual identities for each group and evolving with new applications. Now that we have established the system, new logos like Sed Patriae, a group for Justworks Veterans, can easily be created by.
